Whenever there is an accident between a motorcycle and a car or truck, the motorcyclist is almost always seriously injured. It’s your legal right to sue for compensation for your injury after an accident, especially since, in this case, the motorcyclist had the right of way at the time of the crash.

Choosing a Personal Injury Lawyer

After an accident, it can be difficult to know what to do and where to turn, especially if you have suffered a serious injury. A good personal injury attorney has many years of experience, knows how to deal with and negotiate with insurance companies and red tape, and can work with complex evidence. What makes our lawyers different is that they have represented motorcyclists in complex lawsuits involving trucking companies, dealerships (negligent servicing of vehicle) and manufacturers. In the video below, attorney Eric Hageman discusses accidents where a semi truck hits a motorcycle.

My Husband Was Killed in a Motorcycle Accident

In cases where a motorcyclist was killed in a crash, the family has a wrongful death claim if the driver who hit the cyclist was more than 50% at fault. Wrongful death laws provide a spouse and other family members the right to sue for compensation. Although a child, parent and other family members may also have a claim, the spouse generally gets the bulk of any money won in a settlement or verdict. These laws were enacted to help families who suffer financially and emotionally when a loved one is taken from them. In some fatal motorcycle accident lawsuits, the family can recover millions from the driver, and possibly others.

Motorcycle Injuries

An independent and thorough investigation of what happened after a motorcycle accident is critical to the case. Our lawyers visit the scene of the accident, inspect all the vehicles involved, interview witnesses, and may reconstruct the accident using sophisticated technology to help you at this difficult time.
