Recall Details: How to Spot the Eggs in Question

FDA and CDC advise not to eat, sell, or serve recalled eggs. Check your fridge and supply chain for the following:

  • Brands / labels: Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, Nijiya Markets and Country Eggs (large brown, cage‑free “Sunshine Yolks” or “Omega‑3 Golden Yolks”).
  • Carton code: No. CA‑7695 (often printed on the side panel).
  • Sell‑by dates: 7/1/25 through 9/18/25.
  • Distribution: Delivered June 16–July 9, 2025 to California and Nevada retail and food‑service channels. But may have been distributed and resold to other states and locations. Given how wide-spread the infections have been, this is likely.
  • Food‑service packs: Also shipped as 1/15 dozen bulk with the same code and sell‑by range.

If you have any of the above, throw them out or return them and wash/sanitize surfaces that may have touched the eggs.

Symptoms & When to Seek Care

Most people experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps starting 6 hours to 6 days after exposure; illness typically lasts 4–7 days. Children under 5, adults 65+, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for severe illness.

Call your healthcare provider: If you have high fever, bloody diarrhea, dehydration, or symptoms lasting more than three days.

What to Do if You Think You Were Sickened by Eggs

  1. Get medical care and a stool test (culture/PCR) and ask for a copy of your lab results. This is crucial evidence!
  2. Preserve evidence: Keep egg cartons (with code CA‑7695), receipts, loyalty records, leftovers, and note where/when you ate egg dishes (restaurants, catered events).
  3. Report your illness to your local health department and contact a Salmonella lawyer to understand your legal options.

FAQ

Were eggs only sold in CA and NV—so why are there cases in other states?
Product distribution is confirmed in California and Nevada, but cases span 14 states; people travel, and restaurants/retailers can obtain products through broader supply chains. The FDA noted that distribution could have extend beyond confirmed locations.

What exactly should businesses do?
Do not sell or serve recalled eggs; wash and sanitize any surfaces/utensils that contacted them; review invoices for Country Eggs, LLC shipments between June 16–July 9 and check for code CA‑7695 and the 7/1–9/18/25 sell‑by range.

Is this the same as “organic eggs” coverage I saw recently?
This safety alert is specifically for Country Eggs, LLC products and the brands listed above. Always match carton code CA‑7695 and sell‑by dates to the recall. Organic brown eggs sold at Walmart and other major stores were implicated in another recall earlier this year.
