Woman Severely Burned in Possible Gas Explosion at Orlando Apartment Building [Updated]

Updated March 11, 2024. A possible gas explosion at an Orlando apartment building sent a woman to the hospital with critical burn injuries. When firefighters arrived at Woodhill Apartments, crews found no visible smoke or flames, but the building was damaged.

Mikeanesha Moore sustained severe burn injuries in the explosion and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her family, who moved to Florida two years ago for a fresh start, is looking for accountability and answers. Mikeanesha’s husband told News 6, “I need someone held accountable.”

Orange County Fire Rescue says that between January 1, 2023, and March 5, 2024, there have been four calls to Woodhill Apartments for reports of a gas odor. The cause of the explosion is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

Sadly, Mikeanesha died on Saturday. Her family created a GoFundMe page to help support her loved ones during this difficult time.
