FedEx Driver Kills Iowa Man in Wrong-Way Crash

A West Des Moines man died in a wrong-way crash caused by the driver of a FedEx commercial van on Wednesday. The collision happened on northbound I-35 at about 9:45 A.M. near Clear Lake, IA. Bryon Hendricks (52) died when a FedEx van, driving south in the northbound lanes, struck his pick-up truck head-on. Henry Robinson (30) of Georgia was driving the FedEx van. Sadly, both drivers died in the crash.

Hendricks ran a division of Architectural Concrete Supply. At the time of the crash, he was trying to help out a co-worker by driving two hours for less than $100 worth of material to help keep a job site going for the company. The company’s owner, Andy Ward, told KCCI News that Hendricks was well-known and respected in the construction industry. Survived by his wife and two daughters, Hendricks was described by Ward as a “very hands-on dad.”
