Semi Truck Hits and Kills Pedestrian on MN Highway 58

In a tragic accident yesterday afternoon, a Freightline semi truck hit and killed a man on Minnesota Highway 58 north of Zumbrota. The man had parked his Mercedes on the northbound shoulder and was outside of the car.

The semi was northbound on Highway 58 when it struck the man. The preliminary investigation found that the man was in the middle of the northbound lane. This was a preliminary finding and may not be correct.

“We recently won a verdict for a family in a wrongful death case where there was a question of fault,” said Fred Pritzker, a Minnesota lawyer who represents families in wrongful death lawsuits throughout the United States. “The preliminary investigation stated our client’s wife, who was riding her bike, was at fault, but our independent investigation found evidence that the commercial truck driver was at fault. The jury verdict of $2.4 million helped the family fund a campaign to remind drivers to watch for bicyclists.”

Attorneys Fred Pritzker and Eric Hageman were named “Attorneys of the Year” for that Minnesota wrongful death case.
