Attorney Elliot Olsen practices in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, and foodborne illness litigation. As a recognized leader in these areas, he has taught a number of continuing legal education courses on a broad range of topics, including insurance coverage, appellate advocacy, trial advocacy, various personal injury topics, and tort reform. In 2015, he was chosen for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America” and was, once again, named a “Super Lawyer” by Minnesota Super Lawyers.
Mr. Olsen received his undergraduate degree from Carleton College and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon graduation from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Gary L. Crippen of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Mr. Olsen is a Certified Civil Trial Specialist with the Minnesota State Bar Association and is a successful veteran of numerous jury trials. He has also argued a substantial number of appeals.
Mr. Olsen is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Iowa. He represents clients in other states by retaining the services of a local attorney, who then moves to have him admitted pro hac vice, meaning “for this particular occasion.”
Mr. Olsen is married to Lea B. Olsen, a broadcaster for the Minnesota Timberwolves. She does halftime features for over-the-air Timberwolves games and also sideline reporting for Minnesota high school basketball tournaments. Mr. Olsen and his wife have two children.
When not practicing law, Mr. Olsen enjoys spending time with his family, trying new restaurants, bicycling, running, and playing golf. He also enjoys traveling, and has been to Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and China.
