House Explosion in Copiah County Kills Father and Two Teenagers, Injures Family Members

A house explosion in Copiah County, Mississippi, claimed the lives of three people and left more family members injured. Fire investigators suspect that propane gas caused the house on the 3000 block of Wilderness Road to explode. Sadly, 18-year-old Houston Jordan died at the scene. His father, 43-year-old Benji Jordan, and cousin, 14-year-old Tolar Jordan, were airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) where they later died from their injuries. Several other family members sustained burn injuries, including one burn survivor who remains in critical condition. The house explosion is under investigation by the Mississippi State Fire Marshal.

House Explosion Lawsuit Information

If you were injured or your family lost a loved one in a house explosion, you may have the right to take legal action against the wrongdoers whose negligence caused the explosion. While no amount of money could ever make up for your family’s loss, seeking justice through an explosion lawsuit will hold negligent parties accountable and provide your family with financial support during this difficult time.

An experienced explosion lawyer will conduct a cause and origin investigation to determine who is liable for causing the explosion. If there is sufficient evidence to support your claim, you may be able to sue any of the following parties.

  • Gas company
  • Propane company that serviced your propane tank before it exploded
  • Landlord
  • Construction company
  • Contractor or subcontractor
  • Component manufacturer
  • Maintenance company
  • Installation company
  • City, county, or state

It is important to talk to an experienced explosion lawyer as soon as possible because laws called “statutes of limitations,” which vary by state, may limit the amount of time you have to file a claim.
