Elm Towers Fire Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Injured in Waterville, ME

One person is dead and three others are injured after an early morning fire yesterday at Elm Towers, a senior living apartment, in Waterville, Maine. Firefighters arrived at the building, located at 60 Elm St. around 5:40 a.m., to find flames coming from a fourth-floor unit. Their attempts to resuscitate the person inside that unit were not successful. The name of the deceased hasn’t been released.

The 50-unit building is managed by the Waterville Housing Authority. The fourth floor sustained major smoke damage. the Housing Authority is working with the Red Cross to find temporary housing for displaced residents.
