Sisters Hit by Pickup Truck While Boarding School Bus in Wisconsin, 1 Injured, 1 Killed

Two sisters were hit by a pick-up truck while boarding their school bus in Waushara County on Monday morning. The crash happened around 7:15 A.M. along Highway 73 near Plainfield, WI. Six-year-old Maryana Kranz, a kindergartner at Tri-County Area Schools, was killed. Her 4-year-old sister, who is in the 4k program, suffered minor injuries and is recovering at home. Officials say that the school bus had stopped along Highway 73 near 11th Avenue with its lights flashing. The sisters had already crossed the highway with family members and were waiting to board the bus when a pick-up truck went around the bus and struck the girls. The driver of the car has been identified as Carl Mullenix (76).
