Rear-End Semi Crash Injures 4 Iowans in Kansas

Four people from Marion, IA were injured when a semi-truck rear-ended their car on a Kansas highway on Thursday, June 5th. The crash happened at about 7:45 PM on southbound US-83. The car, driven by Richard Colton (59), was driving slowly with its flashers on due to a “brownout” caused by a dust storm when the semi rear-ended it.

All four people in the car, including a four-year-old child, were taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. The Kansas Highway Patrol report says that passengers Teri Colton (59) and Harvey Dorman (4) sustained serious injuries. The driver and front-seat passenger, Daniel Dorman (36) were listed as possibly injured. The semi-truck driver, Jon Olomon (55) of Garden City, was uninjured.
