Dump Truck Crash Near Alexandria Leads to death of Woman in SUV

After blowing a tire, a dump truck caused a three-vehicle crash that lead to the death of Shelly Burgau near Alexandria, MN last Friday.  According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 2:15 PM. The dump truck, driven by Paul Carlsen (65) of Garfield, was traveling west on County Road 82 when it blew a tire. The dump truck then crossed the centerline, striking a pick-up truck and Burgau’s SUV.
