4-Year-Old Girl Dies from Drowning in Minnesota Hotel Swimming Pool

A four-year-old girl died from complications of drowning at a hotel pool in Mounds View, MN. Lamyah Lou Yvette Reece died at Children’s Hospital on Monday, January 27th. Her death came two days after she was pulled from a pool at a family birthday party at the AmericInn on Mounds View Blvd. Lamyah’s doctors said that while her organs improved over time, her brain activity did not, and she was taken off life support. Her organs will be donated to help save other kids. Samiya Hammonds, Lamyah’s mother, described her as “always happy, just smiling and wanting to help everybody.” Family members created a Go Fund Me page to help support Lamyah’s family through this tragic accident.
