An off-duty Hopkins police officer was struck and killed by a car while riding his bicycle on a frontage road along I-94. The fatal crash happened on Sunday, August 4th at around 12:15 AM on Industrial Boulevard. The Rogers PD says both the bicyclist and the driver were in the westbound lane when the bicyclist was struck. Despite life-saving measures, Detective Kevin Hegyi (45) died in the crash.
