3M Explosion in Hutchinson, MN Injures 3

An explosion at the 3M plant in Hutchinson, Minnesota, injured three people, one of them seriously. Two of the people injured were transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and one was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, a level-one trauma center in Minneapolis, MN.

A 3M representative told KARE 11 that the explosion happened when equipment became “upset in the cooling process.”

The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018. 3M temporarily closed part of the plant. According to the company’s website, the Hutchinson plant is the largest in the U.S. and produces tapes, adhesives and household products.

Minneapolis attorney Eric Hageman recently won over $40 million for a client who was burned in an explosion. Based in Minnesota, he flies throughout the United States representing people who have been severely injured.

Eric was “a warrior for me” said one client.

According to Eric, one reason he is successful is because he takes the time to build personal relationships with his clients. Eric meets with clients frequently and talks to some of them almost daily. To get the best result, there has to be trust, and to win trust takes time.

Eric is currently handling another workplace explosion injury in Minnesota. Their client was severely burned as a result of a January 11, 2017, explosion at the McNeilus plant. Worker’s compensation laws precluded our client from suing her employer, McNeilus. Eric worked with our forensic engineering experts and learned that the explosion was caused by the failure of a hose and fitting assembly manufactured by another company, Swagelok Company, an Ohio parts manufacturing firm. Eric figured this out before the OSHA investigator and filed a lawsuit against the Swagelok.

This is the kind of investigative work that sets Eric apart as an explosion lawyer. Eric and attorney Fred Pritzker can be contacted at 612-338-0202. Our law firm is located in Minneapolis, and we represent clients throughout Minnesota and nationally.
