Can I Sue for a Fatal Logging Truck Crash?

Yes, when a loved one is killed by a logging truck, the spouse and “next of kin” can often take action against the driver of the logging truck and their employer if the truck driver was at-fault. Taking legal action is usually the best way to hold an at-fault trucker and their employer responsible if they caused an accident.

There are often also a number of other parties that may be legally responsible for the crash, including:

  • the owner of the tractor
  • the owner of the trailer
  • the owner of the logs
  • the employer of the truck driver
  • a manufacturer of any vehicle or equipment on the truck
  • a maintenance company that serviced the truck.
