Yonkers Apartment Fire Leaves 2 in Critical Condition

Five people were injured, two of them critically, in an apartment fire in Yonkers this morning. Firefighters arrived at the building on Midland Avenue just after 9 a.m.

Yonkers Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick told ABC7 News that the fire started on the fourth floor of the 10-story building and was confined to the apartment where it broke out.  Firefighters performed CPR on the two people before they were taken to Jacobi hospital. Three other residents and three firefighters were also taken to Jacobi for treatment of injuries. Firefighters had the blaze under control in less than an hour.
