Accident News: 3 on Motorcycles and 2 Pedestrians Killed

  • Two people died in an October 10, 2016, crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer truck in West Knoxville. The accident happened at about 3:37 a.m. on Interstate 40 westbound. The driver and a passenger on the motorcycle were found dead at the scene. The truck driver had no apparent injuries.
  • A person riding a motorcycle on Pawnee in Wichita, Kansas, died today, October 11, 2016, when he was run over by semi truck. The motorcycle and the truck were traveling west on Pawnee at about 10 a.m. this morning when the truck backed over the cyclist and drove off. The accident was first being investigated as a hit-and-run, but the truck driver realized that he had been involved and drove back to the scene of the accident.
  • A semitrailer hit a construction zone worker this morning on Interstate 70 in Washington County, PA. The construction worker was dragged several feet. The person’s condition is not known at this time. The truck driver hit the person in a closed-off construction zone at about 8 a.m.
  • A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident by a passing semitruck on I-65 in Indiana yesterday. She had pulled her Suburban over on the shoulder because of possible vehicle trouble. She had just gotten out of the vehicle and closed the door, when a gray Freightliner pulling an enclosed box trailer ran her over. The truck did not stop. The woman’s mother and 2 children were in the Suburban when she was killed. They were uninjured.
