Eleven people are sick, and four have been hospitalized in a multistate Salmonella Anatum outbreak linked to frozen sprouted beans. Chetek Group has issued a Salmonella recall for frozen sprouted mat and moong beans.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) discovered the problem through product testing. Whole genone sequencing tests revealed that the Salmonella strain found in the bean has caused illnesses. The company has temporarily suspended production of these products.
