Updated June 5 with additional brands and products. Bedner cucumbers are being recalled after being linked to a Salmonella outbreak for the second time in 12 months. Several retailers sold the recalled cucumbers and products made with them, including Walmart, Publix, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Big Y Foods, and the Albertsons family of stores.
Bedner Cucumber Salmonella Recall
Bedner Growers of Boynton Beach, FL, is the source of contaminated cucumbers linked to this Salmonella Montevideo outbreak. Last year, cucumbers from Bedner Growers tainted with different strains of Salmonella were linked to an outbreak that sickened 551 people in 34 states and Washington, DC. One hundred and fifty-five people were hospitalized.
Weeks ago, after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found Salmonella in an environmental sample from the farm that was a genetic match to the strain that has caused recent illnesses, Bedner Growers issued a cucumber recall on May 19, 2025.
It includes:
- Cucumbers sold between April 29, 2025, and May 14, 2025
- Cucumbers sold at three Bedner’s Farm Fresh Markets locations in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach
- No stickers or other labeling.
- The recalled cucumbers were also sold to Fresh Start Produce of Delray, FL, for further distribution to retail locations.

Salmonella Symptoms
