Wyoming Raw Milk E. coli, Campylobacter Outbreak

Five people in Wyoming are sick and two are hospitalized with E. coli and Campylobacter infections from raw milk. Four of the raw milk outbreak patients are children.

The name of the producer has not been released, but online vendor Slow Food in the Tetons which sold the milk on September 14 and September 21, discontinued sales of the product after becoming aware of the illnesses.

Kim Deti, a public information officer with the Wyoming Department of Health, said the agency emailed a survey to 61 potentially affected households and about one-third of them responded, according to the Jackson Hole News and Guide. “Both the seller and the producer identified in connection with the illness cluster have been cooperative, allowing for direct communication,” she said.
