The blood drive will be held at the Machine Shop event center near our headquarters in the heart of Old Town Minneapolis.
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. Blood donations are essential for traumatic injuries, surgeries, cancer treatment, and chronic illnesses. The Red Cross needs to collect 13,000 blood donations every day to help people who are sick or injured. As a personal injury law firm representing burn survivors and clients with other severe injuries, our legal team has seen firsthand how blood transfusions can make the difference between life and death.

How To Help End The National Blood Shortage
In September 2023, the American Red Cross declared a national blood shortage after their blood supply dropped to a critically low level. To meet the needs of patients and restore the blood supply, the Red Cross must collect 10,000 more blood products each week. For the past 75 years, the Red Cross has provided 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply to more than 2,500 hospitals nationwide, saving millions of lives each year.
The Red Cross says that donors of all blood types are urgently needed, especially type O blood donors and those giving platelets. To find out if you are eligible to donate blood, please visit the Red Cross’s website. Even if you cannot donate blood, there are many other ways to help, such as volunteering at a local blood drive and spreading the word about blood drives in your community.
