Gold Medal Flour Salmonella Recall

General Mills has issued a Salmonella recall for Gold Medal flour after product sampling found Salmonella Infantis in a 5-lb bag. The recall includes 2-lb, 5-lb, and 10-lb bags with “Better if Used By Dates of March 27, 2024 and March 28, 2024 the following UPCs.

Consumers who have purchased any of these products should not use them as Salmonella can cause serious illness.

Is the Recalled Flour Linked to a Salmonella Infantis Outbreak?

The recalled flour may be connected to an ongoing Salmonella Infantis outbreak linked to flour that has sickened 12 people hospitalizing three of them. The outbreak includes illnesses reported from 11 states that occurred between December 6, 2022, and February 13, 2023.
