Metra Train Crash in Grayslake Kills Dump Truck Driver, Injures Passenger

A Metra Milwaukee District North train derailed after crashing with a dump truck at a crossing on a private road in Grayslake, IL. The truck driver died, and a train passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. CBS Chicago confirmed that inbound Metra train 2116 struck a five-axle dump truck at a private crossing south of Route 120.

Metra Train vs. Truck Crashes

This is not the first time that a Metra train has collided with a truck. Earlier this month, a passenger on a Metra BNSF train died after the train struck a semi-truck at a crossing in Clarendon Hills, IL. A box truck had gotten stuck on the tracks before the Metra train collided with it, killing 72-year-old Christina Lopez.

If you were injured or a family member died in a train crash or derailment, you may be able to sue the railroad company and potentially other wrongdoers.
