Listeria Recall for Haen Meats 1959 House Blend Seasoning Sold in WI

Excalibur Seasoning Company of Pekin, IL has issued a recall for Haen Meats 1959 House Blend seasoning for potential Listeria contamination. The recalled seasoning, sold in clear, plastic shaker bottles was distributed to retailers in Kaukana, Freedom, Oneida, and Holland WI.

Customers who have purchased these products should not use them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. At the time of the recall, the company was not aware of any illnesses associated with the recalled product.

The problem was discovered through routine testing of the finished product. Further tests revealed that the source of the contamination was one lot of one ingredient. All products made with the affected lot are being recalled.

The recalled 6.5-ounce bottles have the lot code 107-354 and the UPC 729009768154.
