A house explosion in the Nebraska panhandle injured one person on Tuesday. One person was airlifted to the hospital with burn injuries after the house near Lewellen exploded. Before the explosion, a resident of the home smelled gas and called a local propane company. The explosion happened when the resident and an employee of the propane company went downstairs to investigate. There were two other people in the home at the time of the explosion who were uninjured. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the explosion.
