Ryan Redmon, public information officer with the fire department, said the man was transported to Marion General Hospital and then transferred to a Columbus hospital where he is in critical condition. Redmon said these kinds of burn injuries usually require extensive care for wound treatment and infection prevention and control.

Marion is located about 120 miles southwest of Cleveland. An investigation of the explosion is underway.
