1 Dead, I Injured in Johnson City, KS House Explosion

One person is dead and another is injured after an August 7 house explosion in Johnson City, Kansas. Local authorities are working to determine the cause of the blast.

Two people were inside the home, located in the 300 Block of Lake Street, when the explosion occurred around 10 a.m. Their names were not released to local media. A woman in her 60s was killed. A man in his 60s sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Wichita hospital.

The home was completely destroyed. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
