Salmonella Outbreak Linked to La Aldea Grocery Store, in West Lafayette, IN

Tippecanoe County health officials are investigating a cluster of Salmonella infections linked to La Aldea grocery store in West Lafayette, IN. The health department is asking customers who have shopped at the store, located at 2801 Klondike Road #D, between September 7, 2020 to September 17, 2020 and developed symptoms of a Salmonella infection, including diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever, and contact them at 765-423-9222 extension 1.

The alert from the health department did not disclose the number of people who have been sickened or the food or beverage that has been identified as the source of the outbreak.

A variety of foods can be contaminated with Salmonella including ground beef, chicken, dairy products and produce. In fact, there are two ongoing multistate Salmonella outbreaks, one is linked to peaches, the other is linked to onions.
