Minnesota Peaches Salmonella Outbreak – 23 Sick, 6 Hospitalized

A Salmonella outbreak linked to fresh peaches has sickened 23 people in Minnesota, hospitalizing six of them, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. The illnesses are part of a nine-state outbreak linked to Wawona peaches sold at ALDI and Target stores.

ALDI Peaches Salmonella Recall

Wawona Organic Peaches Salmonella RecallALDI has issued a recall for conventional and organic peaches sold in bags and in bulk at stores in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.   • The recalled 2-pound bags of conventional peaches have the UPC 033383322001.
  • The recalled 2-pound bags of organic peaches have the UPC 849315000400.
  • The loose bulk peaches may bear a sticker with the Wawona name.

Target Peaches Salmonella Recall

Target has removed the peaches form stores and posted recall information on its website. The recall includes:

  • Peaches per pound, item # 267-03-4038, UPC # 492670340386
  • individually peaches, item # 266-03-0010, UPC # 204038000005
  • 2 lb peach bags, item # 266-03-0002,  UPC # 033383322056
  •  2 lb organic peach, item # 267-50-4044, UPC # 849315000400
  • White Peach per pound, item # 267-03-4405,  UPC # 49267034405
