Maumelle Gas Explosion Injures Four in Arkansas

Four people were injured in a gas explosion in Maumelle, Arkansas as a CenterPoint Energy crew worked to repair a ruptured gas main. Some of the injuries were serious, according to local emergency responders.

A construction crew doing work near the intersection of Edgewood Drive and Windwood Lane called the fire department just after 10 a.m. to report that they had ruptured a gas line. A crew from CenterPoint Energy was trying to repair the line when the explosion occurred around 12:50 p.m. A member of the construction crew may be among the injured, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
