Man Dies in Burnsville Semi Truck Accident

A man died when he was rear-ended by a semi-trailer truck while trying to avoid another semi on I-35W in Burnsville, MN on Sunday night. Richard Segers (82) of Savage had merged into the right lane on southbound I-35W at Burnsville Parkway when a semi-truck that was stopped on the right shoulder began to re-enter traffic in front of his vehicle. Unable to move over due to traffic, Segers slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the semi. Another semi, that was behind Segers, was unable to stop and rear-ended Segers’ vehicle. The impact of the crash sent Segers’ vehicle into the back of the semi that had pulled in front of him.
