House Explosion in Silver Township Injures Two Women

A fiery house explosion in Kettle River, MN seriously injured two women on Tuesday. The blast happened shortly before 9:00 PM at 4080 Korhonen Road. A 72-year-old woman and her 52-year-old female relative were both injured in the explosion. The 52-year-old woman told authorities that the house exploded when she turned on the furnace. Both women suffered serious injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. They were later airlifted to Essentia Health in Duluth.
