Explosion at Virginia Pizza Restaurant Injures Three

An explosion at Pino’s Pizza in Emporia, VA injured three people on Wednesday. Fire officials say that a propane tank caused the explosion. The blast happened at about 6:30 PM at the restaurant on West Atlantic Street. Authorities say that the impact of the blast was so strong that it blew out the restaurant’s ceiling and the ceiling of the restaurant next door. Three employees were taken to VCU Medical Center with burn injuries, one of whom suffered second-degree burns.
