Semi Driver Causes Fatal Crash Involving 5 Other Vehicles Near Columbus, WI

A semi crash on Highway 151 N near Exit 113 in Columbus County, WI killed one person and injured seven. The crash happened during evening rush hour at 5:03 P.M. on Tuesday. A Freightliner straight truck crashed into five other vehicles, including a pick-up truck, minivan, 2 SUVs, and car. A passenger in the pick-up died at the scene. Medflight airlifted the driver and another passenger to UW Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital for injuries. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says distracted driving and speeding in a work zone are the likely cause.
