Another Fatal Semi Truck “Tire-Off” Incident Takes Life of Tulane University Student from Forest Lake, MN

21 year old Tulane University student, Margaret Maurer, was struck and killed March 5th, 2019 by a tire that had broken loose from a passing 18-wheeler semi truck.

According to Gautier, Louisiana police, two tires broke loose from a passing semi truck and one of them struck Margaret as she and two friends were returning from a local rest stop to their parked car.

These kinds of “tire-off” incidents are widespread and are almost always preventable. Unfortunately, because of the energy behind a flying 18-wheeler tire, these incidents are often also fatal.

Fred Prtizker and Eric Hageman have successfully sued trucking companies and drivers for wrongful death from dislodged truck wheels many times and have won hundreds of millions for families devastated by the wrongful death of their loved ones.  We hold wrongdoers accountable so these types of preventable tragedies are less likely to happen again.

Evidence and recollection fades over time, so it’s important our legal team can start investigating as quickly as possible.

If you have lost a loved one to a semi “tire-off” incident, or any type of semi-truck related accident, contact Fred and Eric today for a 100% free consultation.
