6 Killed in Fiery Wrong-Way Crash on I-90

A fiery wrong-way crash killed six people on I-90 near Eyota, MN. The crash happened on Friday, August 2nd at around 1:30 PM when the driver of a Ford Focus started traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-90. The Ford collided head-on with a Chrysler Sebring near the Marion Rest Area, just east of Rochester. One of the cars caught on fire after the crash.

There were three people in each of the two cars and all six of them died at the scene. The driver of the Ford, Sheila Eagle (54) and her two passengers, Tamara Lynne Eagle (29) and Nyobee Eagle Richardson (11), were on their way to a family funeral. The Eagle family was from Waukesha, WI. Christopher Michael Peterson (26) of Rochester was the driver of the Chrysler. His passengers included Esther Linda Peters (47) of Rochester and Shayla Jean Peterson (23) of Paynesville. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says this is the deadliest crash in the state since 2010.
