The explosion happened at about 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, near the intersection of Santa Fe and Fourth Avenue. A building, described by the Denver Fire Department as a four-plex, was leveled. A fire started, and as of later yesterday afternoon, Denver Fire Captain Greg Pixley said he could still “smell lingering pockets of natural gas.”

A natural gas leak is one possible cause of the explosion, according to Captain Pixley. The Denver Fire Department is working with Xcel Energy, the area gas company.

Explosion Damage Lawsuit
This is rubble from another explosion our lawyers investigated. They flew to the scene immediately after being hired by the family of a man who suffered third-degree burns on over 50 percent of his body and head trauma that resulted in permanent brain damage.
