Two Women Injured in Semi Crash

Two women were injured in an accident with a semi truck on Friday, February 19, 2016 on U.S. 281 three miles south of St. John in Stafford County. The accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. A 2007 Freightliner semi driven by a 36-year-old man from St. Louis Park, Minnesota was southbound on the freeway. He did not yield at U.S. 50 and pulled into the intersection, striking the trailer of a 2007 Chevy HHR.

The driver of the Chevy, a 49-year-old woman from Dodge City, Kansas, was injured. Her passenger, a 64-year-old woman from Wichita, Kansas was also injured. Both women were transported to Stafford County Hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way

In many of these cases, the driver was distracted or overly tired. Either way, there is no excuse for endangering the lives of others by not driving a big rig with extreme caution.
