Two Die in Pontiac Apartment Fire, 3 Others are Injured

Two people died in a Saturday apartment fire in Pontiac, MI. Three others were injured.

Fire crews responded to a 1:30 a.m. call at the Woodland Heights Apartments on the 100 block of Edith Street. Heavy smoke had trapped some residents on the second floor where the fire is believed to have started.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another died after being transported to the hospital where three others are being treated for injuries. The victims who died have been identified as a 79-year-old man from Pontiac and a 53-year-old man from Pontiac. Their names have not been released.

The three people suffered injuries – a 52-year-old woman from Pontiac, a 55-year-old woman from Pontiac and a 54-year-old man from Pontiac, are being treated at McLaren Hospital – Oakland. Officials have not yet determined the source of the fire.
