Propane Tank Causes House Explosion in Bristol, VA

A propane tank caused a house explosion in Bristol, VA that injured three people. One woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.

When dozens of emergency responders arrived at the scene on Camp Ground Road in Washington County,  they found a flaming pile of rubble. Debris had blown into neighbors yards and power lines were on fire. Officials say a propane tank is the likely source of the explosion, but an investigation is ongoing.

A witness told WKRN that a loud noise woke her and her husband up around 5:30 am,  when an explosion shook her home, blowing out the windows. When she looked outside she saw the neighbor’s home on fire.

Two of the injured people were treated at the scene. The woman who was hospitalized with burn injuries is in stable condition.
