A propane leak was the likely source of a fatal house explosion in Claypool, Indiana, in August, authorities have determined. Homeowner Kay Justis was killed by blunt force trauma she suffered in the August 25 explosion, at 4678 South, County Road 450 West. Her husband Larry was hospitalized for back injuries he sustained in the blast.

A propane leak from or near a clothes dryer was ignited by an electrical event at the electric service panel, concluded an investigation conducted by the Burket/Seward Township Fire Department, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s.
