Man Seriously Injured in Semi Crash in Orange County

A 27-year-old Orlando man was seriously injured when his 2001 Ford Mustang and a 2001 semi-trailer truck collided near North Orange Blossom Trail and U.S. 441 on February 17, 2016 at 5:40 a.m. The semi was pulling out of a driveway on North Orange Blossom Trail, turning left onto southbound 441. The truck stopped in the intersection, blocking both northbound lanes. The driver of the Mustang was going northbound, approaching the same driveway at the Sod Depot, and the front of his vehicle hit the left side of the truck’s trailer. The car went underneath the semi.

The driver of the mustang was trapped in his car. After being extricated, he was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Hospital with critical injures. The driver of the semi was not injured. State troopers are investigating the accident and charges are pending.
