A 24-year-old man was killed in a semi trailer crash on 275 just before midnight on January 25, 2016. The 1987 Chevy van was stopped unexpectedly in the southbound center lane of the highway and it was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer. The van burst into flames and the truck went into the northbound lanes.
The man was killed at the scene, about three miles north of Bearss Avenue. The truck driver was not injured. A Gofundme account has been set up for the family of the deceased by his cousin.
Troopers are investigating this accident, and we don’t know all of the details. The highway was shut down for six hours while the accident was investigated and cleared.
