Fire in Watertown Township, MN Kills 2 Children and Their Mother

Grieving Over the Loss of a Loved One

Two children and their mother were killed in a house fire in Watertown Township, MN. The source of the fire that killed Tia Nustad, 33, and her children Tyler, 11, and Layla, 3 is under investigation.

When Watertown firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire around 2:30 a.m. on September 17, the house was engulfed in flames. The children were found dead inside the home, Tia Nustad was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died. A GoFundMe site has been set up for the family.

Most structure fires occur in residential settings.
