Adair County House Explosion Kills 4

A terrible house explosion in Adair County, Kentucky, tragically killed four people, one of them a baby. Our deepest sympathy to the families.

The explosion happened Tuesday, January 26, 2016 on M Coomer Road, off of Highway 206, about 6 miles east of Columbia.  The cause of the explosion and fire is not known at this time.

State Police told the media that 4 people were killed in the blast: a 60-year-old man, a 52-year-old woman, a 32-year-old man and a baby.

Glenn LaFond, the pastor of Bearwallow United Methodist Church, told WKYT News:

“A very clever man. He did a lot of things in his lifetime. Always had a smile on his face, a good guy. They’ve always been good hard working folks, all the time I’ve known them. Good people.”1

This is an unimaginable tragedy, and the families deserve answers. When the source of the blast is determined, more may need to be done to find out why it happened.
