Man Killed by Silage Truck

A man from Mankato, MN was tragically run over and killed by a truck at a tire store.

Was the truck driver distracted? Was the truck driver qualified for the job? Had the trucking company taken measures to prevent this type of trucking accident?

The accident happened Monday at about 3:25 p.m. in an industrial area on the north side of the city.

People at the scene administered first aid to the injured employee in an attempt to safe his life.

Because this is a fatal workplace accident, Minnesota OSHA will investigate the workplace death to “determine the cause of the accident and determine whether existing OSHA standards were violated to help avoid a recurrence of similar accidents,” according to OSHA. Minnesota is one of the states that operates its own occupational safety and health program under a plan approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
