Attorney Fred Pritzker is warning consumers of a recall of Target pajamas because they do not meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear (16 C.F.R. Parts 1615 & 1616). If a child wearing the pajamas, girl’s Circo blanket sleepers, comes in contact with fire, the child may be seriously burned and suffer disfiguring injuries or wrongful death.
Manufacturers and retailers know about the flammability standards, which have been the law, with amendments, since the 1970s. There is no excuse for a manufacturer or retailer who sells sleepwear for babies and older children that does not meet these standards. You can contact Fred or another attorney on his product liability team for a free consultation here regarding burn injury compensation and your child’s legal rights.
