Legionnaires’ Disease from LA Fitness Hot Tub in Naperville

DuPage County health officials have linked two cases of Legionnaires’ disease to a hot tub at the LA Fitness club located at 1836 Freedom Drive, Naperville, Illinois. Lawyers Fred Pritzker and Eric Hageman are investigating.

“This is one of several recent Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks linked to a fitness club,” said Fred. “One reason for these outbreaks is that hot tubs are perfect environments for Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease.” You can contact Fred and Eric for a free consultation (click here now) regarding a lawsuit against LA Fitness or another fitness club.

People get sick when they breathe in water mist contaminated with Legionella bacteria, which then colonize in the lungs, causing a severe form of pneumonia that is often fatal. This form of pneumonia is called Legionnaires’ disease or Legionella pneumonia.

When a fitness club is linked to Legionnaires’ disease, it is the company’s responsibility to compensate the patient for hospital and other medical expenses, lost wages, pain suffered, emotional distress, loss of quality of life and other damages, according to Fred.

The 2 men sickened in this outbreak linked to LA Fitness, both got pneumonia toward the end of October. The DuPage County Health Department interviewed the men, looking for a common source. The connection the department found was the hot tub at the Naperville LA Fitness.
