Bedner cucumbers are being recalled after being linked to a Salmonella outbreak for the second time in 12 months. On May 19, Bedner Growers of Boynton Beach, FL, issued a cucumber recall after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found Salmonella in an environmental sample that was a genetic match to strain that has caused recent illnesses.
Bedner Cucumber Salmonella Recall
Bedner issued the recall on May 19, 2025 it includes:
- Cucumbers sold between April 29, 2025, and May 14, 2025
- Cucumbers sold at three Bedner’s Farm Fresh Markets locations in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach
- No stickers or other labeling.
- The recalled cucumbers were also sold to Fresh Start Produce of Delray, FL for further distribution to retail locations

Salmonella Symptoms
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection usually develop within six to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. They include:
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal cramps
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Fever
Ongoing Salmonella Outbreak
The ongoing Salmonella Montevideo outbreak includes 26 people from 15 states. Nine people have been hospitalized. Illnesses have been reported from: AL, CA, CO, FL, IL, KS, KY, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, and VA.
Last year, cucumbers grown by Bedner and distributed by Fresh Start Produce were linked to a 34-state Salmonella outbreak that caused 551 illnesses and 155 hospitalizations in 34 states and Washington, DC.
