Recall: 5 More Brands of Frozen Shrimp May Pose Radiation Risk

Southwind Foods of Carson, California, has issued a recall for five brands of frozen shrimp that may be contaminated with Cesium-137, a radioactive substance. The recall includes Sand Bar, Best Yet, Arctic Shores, and Great American Seafood frozen shrimp. These products may pose a low-level risk of radiation exposure; consumers should not eat them.

The recalled bagged, frozen shrimp was distributed between July 17, 2025, and August 8, 2025, to retailers, distributors, and wholesalers in nine states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

This recall comes days after the FDA issued a warning that Great Value shrimp sold at Walmart stores may also have been exposed to Cesium-137.
